TPI Opportunities Update

We are excited about the growing ambit of opportunities that we are seeing opening to our partnership with the Pacific Institute (TPI). We are currently offering a STEPS taster programme to a number of UK based clients which could yield opportunities with various UK-based NGOs and faith-based organisations; we are also dialoguing with Her Majesty’s Prison Service and exploring options for using STEPS amongst young offenders in the UK.  In Macedonia, proposals are in development, for training and teaching of TPI based material through the office of the President of Macedonia which could lead to initiatives sponsored by the government of Macedonia.

PX2 is based upon TPI’s successful curriculum but the packing and presentation is extremely youth orientated.  This course has already been introduced and facilitated in several nations around the world.  Lou Tice’s vision is to use this programme to reach one million young people each year.  We see this as a golden opportunity to invest something positive into today’s youth culture.

Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications) has approved the accreditation of a new qualification (Developing Effective Thinking Skills) which aligns with the outcomes of STEPS and PX2.  This means that both programmes are the learning routes to the national qualification on the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) at level 2.  Students can thus gain a qualification on completion of STPS/PX2 and it may then be possible for Proton and our clients to secure funding for the running of our programmes.  We are exploring becoming an accredited centre for delivering this part of the qualification offer through Ofqual.  Watch this space for more information.
