Project Management Training for SME's

New UK course dates announced as the Foundation looks to make Project Management training affordable and accessible for small to medium enterprises.

In January delegates from several UK third sector organisations joined the Proton team at their Grovelands House centre, for the pilot course of Accessible Project Management, a new course that the Foundation was looking to introduce into its education, training and development portfolio.

The two day programme, which was developed and delivered by project management practitioners, Damian Harries and Chris Prees,  was well received by the delegates.

Damian and Chris are PRINCE2 qualified pracitioners, with together over 20 years experience of project management within the public, private and third sectors, ranging from small to multi-million pound projects.  They covered the 5 stage process from conception through to post, including sessions on governance, organisation, stage end reviews, risk and issue management, monitoring, control and reporting.

Exercises were used to help apply the processes and principles and plenty of time was given to discuss how the delegates might apply their learning within their work contexts.  Each delegate received a manual and a CD containing document templates to take back to their workplaces.

Julie Mellor from Yorkshire said, "I found the course very useful and informative; I can now go back and put in place structures and procedures that will benefit our organisation. I feel more confident and felt I stepped up another level in being able to make things happen and move the organisation forward. Thank you."

Tim Mettam from Doncaster said, "The main thing that has been very helpful for me is understanding that even very small projects can be helped by this system.  Once you understand the system it really does save time, makes sure you cover everything in sequence, and ensures you don't leave essential items out. It was a great course, well run and the atmosphere was excellent. Full marks for the presentation and conference atmosphere you have created for your courses."

Every delegate said they would recommend this course to others and that it represented excellent value for money.

The Foundation will be running this course again in the UK at regular intervals during the year.  Registrations are now being received for the April Course, but book early as places are limited.  Find out more about the course content and register today.
