DVD Project Update
Proton has invested in a DVD project to ensure that outreach teams are trained effectively through high-quality DVDs.
Over the past fifteen years, Next Level International has been sending community regeneration short-term teams into communities in Central Europe and within the UK. Due to tight resources and limited personnel, and to the inability of physically visiting each team prior to their trip, NLI developed written materials that aim to train teams on the cultural and practical aspects of their trip alongside giving country and/or region specific information to aid the team in delivering a relevant and effective program to the community that would visit.
About three years ago, NLI began to critically analyse their current processes and how they could best develop so as to make the teams more effective. The DVD training series was thus birthed and seeks to equip leaders and mission teams in their pre mission preparation. This will provide a resource of quality that will allow for better equipped, mission mind teams to be on the field, and present a consistent form of training of training to the team. The secondary goal is to create a revenue stream that will allow for the development, and continued improvement of short-term mission (STM) training materials, and development of other projects within next level international.
Desired Outcomes:
- To better equip missions team
- To alter and improve the way a team approaches the cross cultural activities before they engage on the field
- Money (self sustaining capital projects)
The ultimate vision is to be able to produce high quality training materials to the team going on mission with NLI, improving the quality of the STM we send to the field through relevant training. The immediate goal is to build a self-sustaining model that allows for reinvestment in developing, and improving the training available to the teams, as well allowing for NLI to take part in capital ventures in other areas of its ministry.
The Proton Foundation has partnered with a donor who gave £10,000 to get this project off the ground and we are pleased at its development to date. However there is need for further investment to enable NLI to train and equip our community regenerations teams to aid them in their work that is ongoing in Eastern and Central Europe and in many impoverished cities and communities in the UK.
