The Benefits of Effective Project Management

Sometimes project management  can appear overwhelming and  very complex and accessing training can be costly for a small company or organisation operating within a limited training budget. Just understanding the terminology alone can seem daunting.

As more and more charitable organisations engage in tendering for and delivering community projects  and services, the Foundation looks to support their engagement by making Project Management training both affordable and accessible.

It is recongised that there are real benefits to be gained by investing in upskilling your team in project management, however the cost of putting staff on courses of this nature are high.  Project management can bring many benefits your organisation such as:

  • reducing the chance of a project failing
  • ensuring a minimum level of quality and that results meet required outcomes and expectations
  • freeing up other staff members to get on with their area of work and increase efficiency both on the project and within the business
  • making things simpler and easier for staff with a single point of contact running the overall project
  • encouraging consistent communications amongst staff and suppliers
  • keeping costs, timeframes and resources to budget

As well as these general benefits, many government departments and international businesses look for project management expertise and experience from organisations that are tendering for work.

With SME's in mind PRINCE2 qualified project management practitioners Chris Prees and Damian Harries have combined forces with the Proton Foundation to make project management training accessible and affordable.  Based on a 5-stage process the two day training course will provide foundational understanding of successful project management processes and equip your staff with the tools to initiate, plan and manage projects from inception to implementation.

The next course is running on 22/23 June in Coventry UK.  Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment,

Beyond the training course we are also adding Project Management into the Proton Consult toolkit, offering a fantastic opportunity to our partners to have a qualified PRINCE2 practitioner on hand to mentor and coach their project teams.  With a combined experience in project management of  over 20 years our team will provide hands on support specific to the unique needs of your organisation.
